What's next?

Now that you have your system, you might have questions in regards to how it works. Below you will find some helpful information to understand your new system.

What will I see in my pre-sediment filter?

The First White Filter

This filter will start to turn BROWN! You may even notice a change within the first day. Don't be alarmed though, it's doing its job.

Remember, the main purpose of this filter is to remove sediment. Our clear housing filters allow you to see how much sediment is being removed from your water.

While this can be a startling site, rest assured you're not bathing and drinking it any more :)

Brown, Brown & More Brown

There are a lot of factors that determine the rate at which your filter will turn brown.

1. Your location in the water line

2. Your water usage

3. Other projects in the area

4. The water provided to you

These factors play a huge role in what becomes filtered. Your filter might turn brown within days while the neighbors a few doors down lasts for 3 months. This is typical and normal.

Before now, you didn't know what was in your water. With clear housing filters, you now get to view what you've been ingesting all these years.

An Example

Two home owners on the same street purchase a system. Home owner #1 is at the beginning of the street. Home owner #2 is at the end of the street (maybe a cul de sac).

Home owner #1 is a single retired person that uses water on a minimal basis.

Home owner #2 is a family of five that uses 5 times as much water.

The filter for Home owner #2 will turn brown much faster because of the amount of water used.

The filter gets brown faster because it's doing what it's supposed to do. It's designed to filter out sediment. The more water used, the more sediment to filter.

In addition to this, because Home owner #2 is at the end of the service line, sediment gathers in the city water pipes below ground. When water flows, the sediment goes too.

Filtration isn't a 'Set it and forget it' Infomercial

Just like you change your oil in your car or the air filters in your home air conditioning, water filters are designed to be changed. This is why maintenance is important.

Sometimes your filter will need to be changed faster than last time.

Is that bad???

NO! It's expected at times.

Remember the filter has one job. Remove things.

The more you use water, the more it will remove.

My filter is dirty. Am I still getting clean water?

YES! This is why we have a multi-filter staged process. The end result is clean water. Remember a filter's job is to filter things. Until now, you didn't know what was in there.
